1 Year Anniversary of THE List

Today marks the one year anniversary of the day I started my 101 Things List.  I'm actually quite impressed that I've kept up with it all this time.  So far, I've managed to knock 36 items off.  A lot of them were silly items that reminded me of my childhood, like making a snow angel and constructing a lego set.  Others were to help me try new things, like recipes and restaurants.  And some were just fun, like attending an Eagles game and a random sporting event

When I first told Howard about my list, I'm pretty sure he rolled his eyes and asked me why I was doing something so completely useless.  But he's come around.  While strolling downtown looking for a restaurant to eat at, Howard pointed out one we had been to before.  I told him we couldn't go there because I needed one more new restaurant to get to 10 so I could cross it off my list.  He just nodded and we walked on until we came to one neither of us had eaten at.  He will also randomly ask me if there is anything we can do to cross something off my list.

My friends are also very supportive.  I'm pretty sure Amanda J. knows my list better than I do.  If I tell her about my weekend and I mention something, she will immediately ask me if I crossed it off my list.  A lot of the time it's something I've completely forgotten I even added.  Leslie made it possible to help me cross of carving a pumpkin by hosting a pumpkin carving party when we went to Indy to visit her last October.  Now I'm just waiting on the one person who's going to make item #15 happen.  Someone has to come visit me.  AND SOON!

My good friend and sorority sister, Jayme, inspired me to start my list.  And in turn, Leslie, Heather, Dawn and Emily have all started lists as well.  It's fun and really motivates me to do things I wouldn't normally do.

So a BIG thank you to everyone for loving my silly little list with me.  Only 636 more days to go!

  1. I think THE list is an awesome idea! You've inspired me to want to make one, I just need to sit down and actually think of 100 things to do... not as easy as I thought it would be. Not to mention there is a certain someone who could use a list like this to motivate his butt to do things too ;) We miss you!
